The medieval trading construction stands in the central part of Shahrisabz at the intersection of two main streets. Chorsu is a covered market. Architecturally it looks like Chorsu trading passage near Registan in Samarkand and the domical trading constructions ('Toki') in Bukhara. All these markets, as well as Shahrisabz Chorsu are brick-built and have expressive dome coverings without decorative furnish. Central octagonal hall of the market is covered with a high dome. Four corridors going from the high dome are covered with small domes. Entrances of all four sides have portals. All of them were open for buyers in the past. The construction of Shahrisabz Chorsu dates back to 17th-18th centuries.
