Sitorai-Mohi-Hosa
Sitorai-Mohi-Hosa Palace was a country residence of Bukhara amirs. It has been under construction for two decades since the end of the 19th. Amir Abdullahad-khan (died in 1910) started construction of the old palace. He sent Bukhara masters to Petersburg and Yalta to study Russian architecture. Using Russian experience, local architects headed by usto Khodja Hafiz built a splendid building that combined local Bukhara and European traditions. Its throne hall for royal receptions was the pearl of the palace. The new palace complex of Sitorai-Mohi-Hosa was finished in the time of amir Alim-khan. It had a grand entrance arch, yard with galleries, main building in European style and house for amir's harem in the garden. The carved stucco on mirror background made by Bukhara masters headed by usto Shirin Muradov in 'The White Hall' and paintings by usto Hasan-Djan in the reception room are recognized true masterpieces of handicraft. After the revolution of 1920, Sitorai-Mohi-Hosa was used as a session hall of the Supreme state body of Bukhara National Republic (1920-1924) - all-Bukhara Kurultai.
