Circular routes around Uzbekistan

One of the most used and traditional ways to have a tour of Uzbekistan is to organize it in a circular way, that is, start from a certain point, usually, Tashkent, and then move through the whole country visiting its major tourist cities Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva. When your tour is finished, you return to Tashkent for a farewell party and flight back home.

As the experience shows, such an itinerary is the most efficient one. First of all, you can spend as many days in each city as you want. Usually, it would be 1-2 days in Tashkent, 2 to 3 days in Samarkand and Bukhara, and 1-2 days in Khiva. At your discretion, you can extend each stay to more days based on your needs and additional tours to nearby areas.

You can decide to start your tour with a flight Tashkent - Urgench (Khiva) and then drive all way back to the capital. Or, an alternative is to start with driving and then, upon completion of the whole tour, fly back to Tashkent. These two options are fully workable and maximize your travel experience plus save you time and money.
